Debbie Erasmus

Debbie Erasmus has over 20 years of work experience in the mining and processing industry. Debbie most recently worked at South32 as a Practice Lead for Processing Technology. Prior to that, they were a self-employed Independent Consultant for three years. Debbie also held the position of Principal Process Engineer at Core Resources Pty Ltd from 2012 to 2016. Before that, they worked at Anglo Platinum as a Senior Process Engineer, where they played a significant role in the design and installation of a semi-automated nickel refinery. Debbie has also held roles as a Senior BIOX Metallurgist at Goldfields, a Process Engineer at Bateman, and a Project Manager at Time Mining. Their career began at AngloGold Ashanti, where they worked as a Metallurgist and eventually served as an Acting Plant Manager.

Debbie Erasmus obtained their MSc degree in Hydrometallurgy from the University of Cape Town from 2008 to 2010. Prior to that, they completed a GDE in Industrial Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand from 2002 to 2005. Their education journey began with a BSc degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand which was completed from 1993 to 1996.
