James McCarthy is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in project management and concept studies within the mining and metals industry. Currently serving as Senior Manager of Concept Studies at South32 since June 2015, James has held various leadership roles including Manager of Concept Studies and Closure, and acting Manager of Major Projects and Directional Studies. Prior to South32, James spent a decade at BHP, progressing through roles such as Lead Project Delivery and Senior Business Analyst, among others. Academically, James holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of South Australia and dual Bachelor's degrees in Chemical Engineering and Commerce (Management) from Curtin University.
