Lina Betancourt

Lina Betancourt currently serves as the Head of Communications for the Americas at South32 since August 2023. Prior to this role, Lina held various significant positions, including Senior Manager of Internal Communications at Rio Tinto from August 2020 to May 2022, where responsibilities encompassed developing strategic internal communications with a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion, and managing a team across Canada and Australia. At Essilor, from September 2016 to August 2020, Lina functioned as Head of Communications and previously served as Employee Engagement Manager, contributing to corporate storytelling and employee engagement initiatives. Lina's earlier experience includes positions at Saft and Lafarge, where communication strategies and multimedia content creation were central to the roles. Lina holds a Bachelor's degree in Government from Cornell University and a Master's in International Affairs from American University.
