Peter Fisher

Peter Fisher is an experienced mine crew trainer and emergency response officer at South32 since July 2019, where responsibilities include inspecting safety gear, emergency response equipment, and fire safety systems, along with leading the emergency response team. Prior to this role, Peter served as an underground operator at South32 and BHP Billiton from March 2015 to July 2019 and May 2012 to March 2015, respectively, with a focus on transporting explosives and operating haul trucks. Earlier experience includes working as a diamond driller at Major Drilling International, Inc. from January 2008 to May 2012, and serving in the Australian Army as artillery from July 2001 to July 2008. Peter completed education at Huonville High School in Tasmania from 1997 to 2000.
