Phillip Drain

Phillip Drain possesses extensive experience in engineering and project management, currently serving as Manager - Engineering (Major Projects) at South32, where responsibilities include leading process and engineering disciplines in major studies delivery and influencing project strategies to maximize value. Previously, Phillip held roles such as Program Manager for Decarbonisation & Water and Project Manager in related fields at South32. Prior experience includes a PhD researcher at the University of Wollongong, focusing on phosphorous removal in steelmaking, and various engineering positions at BHP Billiton Worsley Alumina and BlueScope Steel, where project execution and process improvements were key responsibilities. Phillip holds a Master of Engineering and a degree in Materials Engineering from the University of Wollongong.
