Laura Betsworth

Laura Betsworth is a seasoned professional in emergency preparedness and response with extensive experience in local government. Currently serving as Senior Emergency Preparedness, Resilience & Response Officer at Southampton City Council since April 2018, Laura leads emergency response initiatives for both Southampton and Portsmouth City Councils. Previously, Laura held the position of Civil Contingencies Officer at Portsmouth City Council since April 2009, focusing on community support during emergencies and staff training. Laura's earlier roles include Emergency Planning Officer at Hampshire County Council, ensuring readiness across various districts, and Office Manager at Culture South West, responsible for organizational operations. Laura holds a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Portsmouth and a Bachelor of Science in Development and Health in Disaster Management from Coventry University.
