Ruth Hardie has a diverse work experience in the arts and music sector. Ruth began their career as a Music Outreach Officer at the University of Cambridge Faculty of Music in 2009. In this role, they developed a Music Outreach strategy, trained students and staff, and organized cross arts events for festivals.
In 2013, Ruth joined Southbank Centre as a Participation Producer, where they programmed and produced music and cross arts live events. Ruth later became the Senior Participation Producer, taking on lead programming responsibilities for various festivals. In 2020, they were promoted to Head of Public Programming, leading a team in curating festivals, seasons, and the overall public program of Southbank Centre. Ruth focused on underrepresented voices and finding innovative ways for audiences to engage with art and artists.
Throughout their career, Ruth has demonstrated a commitment to inclusivity and accessibility in the arts.
Ruth Hardie completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from the University of York, where they studied from 2004 to 2007. Afterward, they pursued further education and obtained a Master of Arts degree in Music in the community from the same institution, studying from 2007 to 2008.
