Susie Furtado

Susie Furtado, MBA, RHIA, serves as the Manager of Health Information Management at Southcoast Health since January 2021, leading a decentralized team while overseeing key operations including document management and MyChart access support. Previously, Susie held the position of Director of Health Information Management and Privacy Officer for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts from March 2019 to January 2021, where policies ensuring HIPAA compliance were developed and operational efficiencies were significantly enhanced. Experience also includes serving as Medical Records Supervisor at Franciscan Children's and various roles at Steward Health Care, where responsibilities encompassed medical records management and quality audits. Susie’s educational background includes a Master of Business Administration with a focus on Business Analytics from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and a Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management from the University of Cincinnati, complemented by an Associate degree from Bristol Community College.
