Derek Davis

Derek Davis has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Derek most recently worked as a Client Virtualization Solutions Architect at the SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) starting in November 2022. Prior to this, Derek was employed at Covenant Health (Tewksbury, MA) where they held roles as an EUC Solutions Architect and a Virtualization Engineer. Derek was responsible for providing technology direction, recommendations, and solution design, as well as developing architecture and standards for design, deployment, and optimization of the end user computing architecture for healthcare service delivery. Before Covenant Health, Derek worked at St. Joseph Healthcare as a Systems Engineer supporting Citrix, VMware, and Nutanix platforms.

Earlier in their career, Derek held positions at Black Mountain Technologies as a Consultant, Great Northern Paper Company as an IT Manager and Systems Engineer, Delhaize Group as an Information Systems Services Analyst, Twin Rivers Paper Company as the Director of Computing Platforms, Katahdin Paper Company as a Senior Systems Administrator, Great Northern Paper as a Systems Administrator, and Resolute Forest Products as an IT Support Technician.

Throughout their various roles, Derek has developed expertise in virtualization, systems engineering, architecture design, and IT support.

Derek Davis attended the University of Maine from 1989 to 1992, where they earned an Associate of Science (AS) degree in Legal Technologies. Following this, they enrolled in Eastern Maine Technical College to study Computer Services and Support Technician, although the specific dates are unavailable. In addition to their formal education, Derek has obtained several certifications, including the Citrix Certified Administrator (CCA), Citrix Certified Associate - Virtualization (CCA-V), CompTIA A+ Computer Support Technician (A+), IGEL Certified Engineer (ICE), IGEL Certified UMS Expert, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), and Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE).
