Gail Dabaluz has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and organizations.

Starting in 2001, they worked for the Department of Interior Bureau of Indian Affairs as a Contracts and Grants Specialist and then as a Self Determination Specialist. In these roles, Gail provided staff assistance and implemented components of the Indian Self Determination and Educational Assistance Act, working directly with federally recognized tribes in Alaska.

From 2006 to 2011, Gail worked for the State of Alaska in various grant administration positions. Gail administered federal and state grant programs, prepared budgets, and ensured program compliance.

In 2011, Gail became a Senior Contract & Program Manager for Goldbelt Wolf, where they managed and coordinated the administration of service contracts and ensured compliance with government contract reporting requirements.

From 2013 to 2016, Gail served as the Director of Business and Economic Development for the Central Council of the Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska. Gail managed the Tribe's Business and Economic Development Department, applying for and administering contracts and grants to enhance growth in businesses and programs for tribal citizens.

From 2016 to 2017, Gail worked as the Executive Director for the Yakutat Tlingit Tribe, where they managed contracts and grants on behalf of the tribe and supervised program managers and the Yakutat Community Health Clinic.

In 2017, Gail joined Southeast Alaska Independent Living (SAIL) as a Project Manager. Gail administered a federal demonstration grant, identifying barriers to independent living for Alaska Natives in rural villages.

Most recently, Gail has worked for the SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) since 2019. Gail started as a Project Manager, then became an Onboarding Liaison, and is currently the Outreach and Development Program Manager.

Gail Dabaluz is currently a candidate for a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Indigenous Studies at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Gail began their doctoral studies in 2017 and is expected to complete them in 2022.

Prior to their Ph.D. program, Gail earned a Master of Arts Degree in Alaska Native Studies and Rural Development from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Gail attended this program from 2005 to 2010.

Gail's education journey began at the University of Hawai'i System, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Cultural Anthropology. Gail attended this institution from 1994 to 1998.
