Brett Bright

VP, Student Success at Southeast Community College Area

Brett began his employment at SCC on Sept. 1, 2021, and comes to the College from Hutchinson (Kansas) Community College, where he served as vice president of student services for six years. He also worked at Texas State Technical College in Waco; Connors State College in Warner, Oklahoma; and Neosho County Community College in Chanute, Kansas.

As vice president for student success, Brett is responsible for the College-wide leadership and for student success and goals related to student development, student life, residence life, student accountability, Title IX, career services, TRiO, CARES, and CAPS.

As Beatrice Campus director, Brett is responsible for all campus operations and for the ongoing supervision and monitoring of the campus Shipping and Receiving, Budget Development and campus projects.

As director of athletics, Brett serves as administrative oversight of the athletic programs at all College campuses and supervises the assistant athletic director and coaches. He also assures that the athletic department is compliant with all National Junior College Athletic Association policies, procedures and regulations.

Originally from Velma, Oklahoma, Brett earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma. He earned his Education Specialist degree in Leadership Administration from Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas.
