Dr. Mann is a nationally recognized optometric authority in the diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease. He has multiple publications and is frequently requested to speak on ocular disease at medical education seminars. With SouthEast Eye Specialists he currently provides care for patients with cataract, glaucoma, and anterior segment diseases.
Following his residency, Dr. Mann joined the faculty of Indiana University as an assistant professor of optometry. While there, he was recognized as Professor of the Year. In 1984, Dr. Mann relocated to Chattanooga to establish Tennessee’s first optometric referral center which he directed until 1999. In 1988, he was named Tennessee’s Young Optometrist of the Year by the Tennessee Optometric Association. He and Dr. John Bierly joined together and formed SouthEast Eye Specialists in 1999.
Dr. Mann is a charter member of the Optometric Glaucoma Society. He is Past-President of the Tennessee Association of Optometric Physicians and former chairman of the American Optometric Association’s Hospital Practice Committee and its Medical Eye Care Committee. Dr. Mann is an adjunct professor at several schools and colleges of optometry.
Dr. Mann enjoys coaching and watching his daughter participate in sports, exercising, golf, church, and traveling with his family. He and his wife Melanie have one daughter.
