Mike Godard

Provost at Southeast Missouri State University

Mike served as Provost at Southeast Missouri State University since July 2019. As provost, his primary responsibility is to lead the overall administration and promotion of academic excellence in the faculty and academic programs of the University. He also serves as a member of the University President's Executive Staff. A vital part of his leadership role in planning and implementing innovative instructional programs, building collegial consensus around a compelling vision for the future and guiding the development of creative initiatives within academic affairs. His responsibilities are associated with the learning environment at Southeast and include all academic programs within the five academic colleges, the Honors Program, Graduate Studies, the Kent Library, and the extended studies division.

Prior to coming to Southeast, Mike served as Interim Provost and Chief Learning Officer at the University of Central Missouri (UCM) from January 1, 2018 – June 30, 2019. He also served as Vice Provost for Enrollment Management at the UCM, where his responsibilities centered primarily on student success initiatives to ensure the university delivered quality student services and achieved its mission and vision from recruitment through graduation.
