Tonya Wells

Tonya Wells has over 20 years of experience in marketing and communications. Tonya currently serves as the AVP of Marketing & Communications at Southeast Missouri State University. Prior to their current role, Tonya was the Senior Community Relations Specialist at the Missouri Department of Transportation from June 2000 to September 2008. In this role, they were responsible for developing and implementing statewide community relations programs. Before their time at MoDOT, Tonya was the Communications Director at the Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce from July 1996 to June 2000. In this role, they were responsible for managing the Chamber's communications, including print, electronic, and social media.

Tonya Wells received their Master of Arts in English from Southeast Missouri State University and their Bachelor of Science in Electronic Journalism and Mass Communication from Murray State University. Tonya is also a Certified Digital Marketing Professional from the Digital Marketing Institute.
