John Underwood is the Senior Director of IT and Manufacturing Services, he joined SEC as a Project Engineer in 1990. John was promoted to Engineering Manager in 1993. During his time in engineering he was responsible for managing the construction of eight new facilities and the expansions two existing facilities as well as the installation of the production equipment. In 2009 he was asked to join the Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP implementation team coordinating capital projects, purchasing, spare parts inventory, and the MRO aspects as of the AX implementation. In 2011 he joined the finance group and was given the responsibility to develop operating budget and financial reporting tools that integrated with AX. In 2019 John was promoted to Senior Director of IT and Manufacturing Services with responsibilities for the Information Technology department and the Manufacturing Services department.
John earned his BS in Mechanical Engineering and a Minor in Computer Programming from North Carolina State University in 1990. John also served 8 years in the United States Army Reserve as a Combat Engineer achieving the rank of Sergeant.

Southeastern Container, Inc. was formed by a group of independent Coca Cola bottlers in the early 80's to produce their own PET packaging needs, and has grown to be one of the world's largest and most respected PET processors. Today SEC ships PET preforms and bottles to over fifty Coca-Cola bottling and co-packing operations in the United States and Canada, stretching from Quebec to Florida and as far west as Montana,covering thirty-four states and six Canadian provinces.
