Astrid Gagnier

Astrid Gagnier serves as the Associate Director of Alumni & Development at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology since September 2019, leading a team focused on alumni engagement and stakeholder relations. As Principal of Astrid Gagnier Communications since June 2014, Astrid provides expert guidance in communication strategy, writing, project management, and facilitation. Previously, Astrid held various roles at Communica Public Affairs from April 2008 to June 2015, specializing in communications strategy and stakeholder engagement, and worked as a Communications Advisor at Elk Valley Coal, developing Aboriginal consultation policies and extensive CSR materials. Astrid's early career includes managerial positions in public and Aboriginal affairs with the Cariboo Lumber Manufacturers' Association and a sole proprietorship providing writing services to the mining and oil and gas sectors. Astrid holds a BA in English from the University of Victoria and a Diploma in Broadcast Journalism from the British Columbia Institute of Technology.
