Paul Lacap

Associate Vice President, Marketing at Southern Alberta Institute of Technology

Paul Lacap has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Paul has held various leadership roles throughout their career. Paul started their career as a Division Manager at United Way of Winnipeg, where they focused on fundraising, strategic planning, and program management. Paul then moved on to Manitoba Blue Cross, where they served as a Project Manager leading a complex merger and acquisition process. Paul also worked at IC Group LP, where they directed the growth and introduction of departments focused on consumer engagement, promotion, and loyalty for global consumer brands. Paul later joined Direct Focus Marketing Communications as a Director, responsible for IT and digital solutions. Paul then worked at the University of Manitoba, first as a Director of Digital Strategy & Engagement and later as the Acting AVP of Marketing and Communications. Most recently, Paul started working at Assiniboine Credit Union as the Director on the Board of Directors. In 2023, they will join the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) as the Associate Vice President of Marketing. Throughout their career, Paul has demonstrated strong leadership skills and a track record of successfully implementing strategic initiatives and managing complex projects.

Paul Lacap holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree in Management Information Systems and Human Resource Management from the University of Manitoba. Paul also has a Masters Certificate in Project Management from the Schulich School of Business - York University. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained the Chartered Marketer certification from the Canadian Marketing Association in 2018, the Credit Union Director Achievement (CUDA®) certification from the Canadian Credit Union Association in 2017, the Prosci Change Management Certification from AdPro Change Systems Inc. in 2013, the PRINCE2 Practitioner certification from APMG-International in 2012, and the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute in 2008.
