Andrea Parnell has over 20 years of experience in the Human Resources field in the information technology, telecommunications, and banking industries. Although coming from an HR generalist background, her specialized areas of expertise include performance management, succession planning, mergers and acquisitions, and employee relations. In her role at Southern, Andrea functions as a member of the executive team to establish strategies for acquiring and retaining talent aligned with Southern’s values-based approach to banking. Prior to Southern, Andrea served as Director of Employee Relations at Allied Wireless Communication Corporation and spent most of her career at Alltel Corporation where she developed and implemented performance management, succession planning, and career development programs for its 16,000 employees. At Alltel and in her earlier position with Systematics, Inc., she focused largely on merger and acquisition activity, including due diligence and employee assimilation activities. Andrea received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Arkansas in Business Administration and Human Resources Management.
