Southern Batteries established in the year 1980, and engaged in the manufacture of maintenance free lead acid tubular batteries and automotive batteries under the brand name “HI-POWER”.The Company is certified for ISO-9001-2000 and ISO-14001 and OHSAS 18001. The Company with additional production capacity at Jigani unit II is poised to record turnover, of Rs. 2500 million in the financial year 2011-2012, and expected to double the turnover to Rs. 5000 million by 2013-2014. The Company has set up state of the art production facilities for manufacture of SMF VRLA batteries used in telecommunication and UPS application. The Company has ventured into retail market segment and has nation wide presence through a network of branch offices and channel partners. HI-POWER tubular batteries/cells are approved and certified by INDIAN RAILWAYS for various applications like train lighting, air conditioning, cranking diesel locos, traction, EMUS signaling and telecommunication. HI-POWER tubular batteries /cells are sourced by all major solar players in India for solar photo voltaic application. HI-POWER tubular batteries are procured by almost all UPS and inverter manufactures in the country. HI-POWER tubular batteries are also supplied to state electricity boards, Nuclear power corporations, state and central government organization and educational institutions India wide.
