Dat Tran

President, Pipeline Investments at Southern Company Gas

Dat Tran was named president of pipeline investments for Southern Company Gas (formerly AGL Resources) in July 2016. Tran, who joined Southern Company Gas in August 2003, is responsible for driving the strategic direction of the company’s investment in pipelines, including the oversight of existing pipeline assets and development of growth opportunities through expansions or mergers and acquisitions.

Tran has more than 23 years of legal and business experience in the energy, utilities and transportation sectors, specializing in mergers and acquisitions, commodities trading and marketing, and project development. Prior to joining Southern Company Gas, he was assistant general counsel for CMS Energy. He also has held senior legal and management positions with Duke Energy and Kinder Morgan Inc.
