Thomas D. Bell, Jr. was named Chairman of Mesa Capital Partners, LLC, a real estate investment firm, in May 2011. He served as Chairman of SecurAmerica, LLC, a provider of premium contract security services from January 2010 to September 2012. He previously served as President and CEO of Cousins Properties (NYSE:CUZ), a fully integrated real estate investment trust, starting in January 2002 and was later elected as Chairman of the Board in December 2006. He served as Chairman and CEO until he retired from Cousins in July 2009. Prior to joining Cousins, Mr. Bell spent 10 years at Young & Rubicam, Inc., retiring as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer when the company merged with WPP. Before becoming chairman of Young & Rubicam, Inc., he served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Young & Rubicam Advertising and as Chief Executive Officer of Burson-Marsteller and Young & Rubicam’s Diversified Communications Group.
Mr. Bell currently serves on the Board of Directors for Norfolk Southern Corporation. He formerly served as a Director of Cousins Properties, Inc., Credit Suisse First Boston, Credit Suisse Group, Lincoln Financial Group, Regal Entertainment Group and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
