Andrew Simms

Andrew Simms is a Transmission Planning Engineer at Southern Company since June 2020. Prior to this role, Andrew served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte from August 2019 to June 2020, where responsibilities included assisting with classroom instruction and grading student work. Earlier experience includes working as a Hardware Reliability Test Engineer at Sensus from May 2018 to August 2019, where Andrew contributed to testing electric meters and designed efficient test setups. Andrew holds a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, obtained in 2020, and a Bachelor's degree in the same field from the same institution, completed in 2019.
