David Cox

David Cox has extensive experience in technology leadership, currently serving as Vice President of Customer Technology (CIS) at Southern Company, with previous roles including Vice President and Chief Information Officer for both Southern Company and Alabama Power. David has also held IT Director positions within Southern Company Operations and Southern Nuclear. In addition to his role at Southern Company, David is a member of the Alabama TechBridge Board and the Alabama CIO Leadership Association. David's community involvement includes serving as Board Chair for the American Heart Association and chairing the American Heart Association Heart Walk. Academically, David holds a Master of Business Administration from Auburn University and a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Management with a focus on Geographic Information Systems from Samford University.
