Joe Schatz

Joe Schatz has extensive experience in the electrical engineering field, currently serving as the Manager of Transmission and Distribution Research at Southern Company since March 1996. Prior to this role, Joe worked as a Plant Electrical Engineer at SMI Steel from February 1991 to March 1996. Joe holds a Master of Science in Power Systems and Power Electronics from Auburn University, attained between 1989 and 1991, as well as a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from Auburn University, completed in 1988.
