Plant Maintenance General Chief at Southern Copper

Freddy Alvarado has over 30 years of extensive experience in the metallurgical and mining industries, currently serving as the Plant Maintenance General Chief at Southern Peru Copper Corporation since August 1993. In this role, Freddy manages plant maintenance, overseeing the planning, organization, supervision, and execution of mechanical, electrical, and refractory maintenance. Prior to this, Freddy held positions as Maintenance Senior Planner and Supervisor of Plant Maintenance, accumulating over 20 years in maintenance planning and execution. Freddy's earlier experience includes serving as Jefe de Construcciones at Centromin Peru S. A., where oversight of refractory maintenance and management of a team of 45 employees was key. Educational qualifications include degrees such as Certified Reliability Engineer from ASQ, an MBA from Universidad Privada de Tacna, and a Master's in Metallurgical Engineering from Universidad Nacional de San Agustín, complemented by a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering from the National University of Engineering.
