Mark Phillips

Mark Phillips has a strong background in technology and digital transformation, with over two decades of experience in various roles. Mark is currently working as the Chief Digital Officer (CDO) at Southern Cross Healthcare since 2023. Prior to this, they held the position of GM of Ecommerce at Fletcher Building from 2015 to 2023, where they were responsible for driving significant revenue growth and establishing a high-performing Ecommerce function. Before that, they served as the GM of Technology for the New Zealand Distribution and Concrete Divisions and as the Head of IT for New Zealand Distribution at Fletcher Building.

Mark has also worked at Placemakers, where they held multiple roles. Mark served as the Business Improvement Manager, where they built a high-performing team and implemented various business improvement solutions. Mark also worked as a Product Manager, overseeing finance, merchandising, marketing, and procurement solutions. In addition, they served as a Senior Business Analyst and as an Inventory Manager, where they successfully transformed inventory procedures and improved store performance.

Mark began their career as a Graduate Assistant at The University of Waikato, where they provided general assistance and supported the running of a major course within the Department of Strategic Management and Leadership.

Mark Phillips completed their education at The University of Waikato. From 1992 to 1997, they pursued a Bachelor of Management Studies with First Class Honours, specializing in Human Resource Management and Economics. Mark then went on to earn a Masters of Management Studies with Distinction in Human Resource Management and Strategy from the same university, which they completed between 1997 and 1999. In addition to their formal education, Mark Phillips also obtained a certification in "Driving Digital Transformation" from IMD Business School in November 2020.
