Chief of Quality & Risk at Southern Cross Hospitals

Victoria’s background includes perioperative and healthcare management roles in both the private and public sectors in New Zealand. Her previous roles with Southern Cross have included managing our Wellington hospital.

Victoria‘s current role involves leading a highly skilled team to deliver on our commitment to be leaders in quality care and patient safety across our national network of private health services. This comprises consumer engagement and co-design initiatives aimed at continuously improving the experience of patients using our services. It also involves leading robust quality and risk systems that support a sustainable culture of safety, including driving best practice in workplace health and safety. In addition, it includes responsibility for growing our quality and risk team’s capability, offering policy direction and strategic advice and maintaining and improving vital risk management and reporting systems. Membership on clinical governance committees also forms a part of this role.

Victoria is a registered nurse, and later gained a Bachelor of Nursing (BN) through Massey University and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Business Studies from the University of Auckland.
