Emily Burch. Ph.D.

Emily Burch, PhD, APD, currently serves as the Course Coordinator and Lecturer for the Graduate Certificate in Diabetes Education and Management at Southern Cross University since March 2023. At The University of Queensland, Emily holds the position of Research Fellow and Communications Coordinator for The Centre of Health and Wellbeing, in addition to serving as a Senior Lecturer for Nutrition and Dietetics. Responsibilities include course coordination for the Master's subject DIET7301 and Senior Lecturer for the undergraduate subject NUT1023. Emily has also contributed to The Conversation Media Group as a Nutrition Communicator since 2018 and worked at Griffith University from 2016 to 2022 as a Researcher, Senior Lecturer, and Communications Coordinator for The Healthy Primary Care Team. Emily's academic background includes a PhD from Griffith University obtained in 2021, and a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics with Class I Honours from the same institution in 2016, as well as a Bachelor of Mass Communication from QUT. Additionally, from December 2015 to 2022, Emily practiced as an Accredited Practicing Dietitian at Sprout Journal.
