Peter King

Peter King, Ph.D., serves as the Executive Director of the Australian DBT Institute since October 2004, focusing on the delivery of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and mindfulness-based approaches across Australia, New Zealand, and South East Asia. In addition, Peter has held the position of Director at Essentia Health Clinics since June 1999, overseeing mental health services for various client demographics. Current roles include Adjunct Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Health at Southern Cross University and Independent Chairperson for headspace services at Meadowbrook & Beaudesert, funded by the Australian Government Department of Health. Previous positions encompass roles at Griffith University and Alfred Hospital, as well as various clinical roles within the Victorian Public Mental Health Service. Peter's educational background includes a PhD in Social Work from RMIT University and a Master of Nursing from the University of Melbourne.
