Sarah Beth Gehl, PhD, currently serves as the Executive Director and Research Director at the Southern Economic Advancement Project since March 2019. Previously, Sarah Beth Gehl was the Principal at Gehl Consulting from 2016 to December 2019, focusing on enhancing the policy and advocacy impact of nonprofits through rigorous research. Sarah Beth Gehl has held academic positions as a Visiting Lecturer at Agnes Scott College and a Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Georgia, teaching courses related to American politics, nonprofit administration, and public administration. Sarah Beth Gehl completed a PhD in Public Policy from the joint program at Georgia State University and the Georgia Institute of Technology, with a dissertation on faculty pay equity in STEM disciplines. Additionally, Sarah Beth Gehl served as Deputy Director at the Georgia Budget and Policy Institute, where important policy reports gained significant media attention and influenced public agenda.
