Jason Junkins, MD has a diverse work experience in various leadership and medical roles. Jason has served as the Chief Executive Officer at Southern Immediate Care since 2016. Prior to that, they worked as the Corporate Medical Director at Southern Health Partners, Inc. starting in 2012. In 2006, Dr. Junkins established their own medical practice, Jason Junkins, MD, LLC, where they served as the owner. Additionally, they were the Owner of Alabama Cremation & Funeral Services from February 2021 to October 2022. Dr. Junkins also worked as the Medical Director at Amedisys Home Health & Hospice from 2011 to 2022. Jason held the position of Vice President of Medical Affairs at American CareSource from September 2014 to May 2015. From July 2012 to September 2014, Dr. Junkins served as the President of Express Family Care. Jason also worked as the Medical Director of the Hospitalist Program at Gadsden Regional Medical Center from 2009 to 2012.
Jason Junkins, MD completed their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree at UAB School of Medicine from 1993 to 1997. Jason then pursued their residency at Whiddon College of Medicine at the University of South Alabama, specializing in Internal Medicine/Pediatrics. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Biology from Jacksonville State University, graduating from 1989 to 1991. In addition, they hold an Associate's Degree in Funeral Service and Mortuary Science from Jefferson State Community College, which they completed from 1987 to 1988. Jason also attended John A Gupton College for a year, studying Funeral Service and Mortuary Science.
