Melanie Sanders MSN, RN, IONL Fellow is an accomplished nursing professional with extensive experience in emergency services and patient logistics. Currently serving as the System Director of Emergency Services and Patient Logistics at Southern Illinois Healthcare since May 2022, Melanie has also held the position of Patient Logistics Manager. Previous roles include Emergency Department Director at Unity Health, Nurse Manager at SIH - Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, and Emergency Department/Observation Unit Nurse Manager at SIH - Herrin Hospital. An experienced leader within Southern Illinois Healthcare, Melanie has effectively contributed in various roles since 2007, including as Surgical Unit Nurse Manager and Emergency Room RN/Charge Nurse. Education includes a Master of Science in Nursing Administration and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Nursing Administration from Chamberlain University, along with ongoing pursuit of a Master’s Degree in Nursing Administration at Western Governors University.
