John Horvat

John Horvat is the Associate Provost, Finance & Administration at SIU School of Medicine at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. Prior to their current role, John was a Consultant at The Fund for Medical Research and Education from January 2019 to December 2019. John's previous experience includes serving as the Vice President of Budget and Decision Support at Wayne State University Physician Group (UPG) from November 1988 to October 2018. In this role, John was responsible for overseeing all aspects of the faculty practice plan’s budget and decision support functions, designing and supporting all strategic analytics, developing and implementing standardized reporting on key performance indicators, and developing and leading a third-party payer contracting function. John provided leadership and collaborative input on a wide variety of strategic and administrative matters, and interfaced regularly with Department Chairs and administrators at all levels of the organization.

John Horvat has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Wayne State University and a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management from Oakland University.
