Joseph Cheatwood

Associate Professor, Department of Anatomy at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine

Dr. Cheatwood's research is primarily aimed at developing a better understanding of neuroanatomical changes underlying spontaneous and induced recovery of sensory, cognitive, and motor functions after central nervous system injury (i.e. stroke). Dr. Cheatwood and lab members also participate in interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary collaborative research projects involving neuroanatomical methodolgy and immunohistochemistry.
