Matt Kupec

Vice Chancellor for Development & Alumni Relations at Southern Illinois University

Matt Kupec is the Interim Director of Intercollegiate Athletics at Southern Illinois University. Prior to this, they were the Executive Vice President & Chief Philanthropy Officer at Moffitt Cancer Center from December 2016 to March 2018, where they raised the entire FY18 fundraising goal in six months and increased cash flow from $13M to a projected $35M in one year. Matt also secured seven major gifts ($1M+) in twelve months, which is 250% increase over the historical average of 2 major gifts per year. Matt secured the two largest grateful patient gifts ($3.5M and $3M) in Moffitt history and established a cancer center naming recognition system.

From October 2014 to December 2016, Kupec was the Vice President for Development & Marketing at HelpMeSee. In this role, they were responsible for all aspects of HelpMeSee’s marketing and fundraising efforts. Matt successfully launched HelpMeSee’s first-ever global branding campaign and grew individual giving by 50% in one year.

Matt Kupec's educational career includes a BSBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Masters of Science from Hofstra University.
