Stephen Shih

Associate Dean & Director, Graduate School at Southern Illinois University

Stephen Shih is the Associate Dean and Director of the Graduate School at Southern Illinois University. Stephen has over 20 years of experience in supply chain and operations management. Stephen has a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan and a master's degree in industrial engineering from Northwestern University. Stephen began their career as a supply chain engineer at Lucent Technologies in 1998. Stephen then worked as a supply chain and operations optimization engineer at the United Technologies Research Center from 2000 to 2001. In their current role, Stephen is responsible for overseeing the graduate school's admissions, academic programs, and research initiatives.

Stephen Shih has a Ph.D. in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering from Penn State University, a Master of Science in Industrial & Manufacturing Systems Engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and a B.S. in Industrial Engineering & Enterprise Information from Tunghai University.

Stephen Shih works with John Shaw - Director, Paul Simon Public Policy Institute, Jeff McGoy - Director, Center for Learning Support Services and Exploratory Student Advisement, and Mandara Savage - Executive Director, Extended Campus. Janna Gharbawi - Accountant, Rose Moroz - Assistant Dean, Records & Registration, and Susan Babbitt - Graduate Admissions Supervisor report to Stephen Shih.
