Southern Nevada Health District
Raychel Holbert, CHES, is a seasoned health educator currently employed at the Southern Nevada Health District since October 2018. Previously, Raychel served at UNLV GEAR UP in various roles, including Academic Counselor, Program Liaison, and Academic Tutor, where responsibilities included recruiting tutors, presenting vital information to high school students, and assisting with academic support. Raychel's experience also includes positions such as Pool Receptionist at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino and Substitute Teacher within the Clark County School District. An internship with I STAND focused on raising awareness against sexual assault at the University of Nevada Reno, while early roles included a student worker position at Chartwells and assisting with club resources at the Associated Students of the University of Nevada, Reno. Raychel holds a Master of Public Health in Social and Behavioral Health from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas and a Bachelor of Science in Community Health Science from the University of Nevada, Reno.

This mission of the Health District is, “To assess, protect, and promote the health, the environment, and the well-being of Southern Nevada communities, residents, and visitors.” To this end, the Health District offers services and provides regulatory supervision that impact the public every day – from the food they eat and the water they drink, to the public establishments they visit, the businesses they operate and the requirements they must meet in order to work in certain industries such as food service and child care.
