Tommy Kelly is an undergraduate student at the University of Rhode Island, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences, with an expected graduation in May 2025. Currently serving as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the George & Anne Ryan Institute For Neuroscience, Tommy is involved in the Ross Lab, focusing on the effects of environmental microplastics on mitochondrial function related to neurodegenerative diseases. Additionally, Tommy works as a Mathematics Tutor with Sprout + Stem, a program aimed at supporting diverse educational communities, and is a member of the Student Organizational Leadership Council at URI. Experience as a Peer Leader and Teaching Assistant for Anatomy and Physiology II, along with a role as a Licensed Nursing Assistant at Southern New Hampshire Health, further enhances Tommy’s leadership and teaching skills. As the HMS Lead Intern for Harvard Medical School's MEDscience program, Tommy leads high school students through healthcare simulations, bridging the inspiration gap in education.
