Jim Davis possesses extensive experience in materials quality engineering and nuclear project management, currently serving as the Materials Quality Engineering Manager at Southern Nuclear since January 2013. In this role, Jim oversees vendor oversight and procurement engineering services, ensuring quality and compliance throughout the supply chain. Previously, Jim held several key positions at Southern Nuclear and Southern Company, including ND ITAAC Manager, ND QA Oversight Manager, and ND Licensing Manager, where responsibilities included managing engineering teams, developing construction completion packages for nuclear plants, and interfacing with regulatory bodies. Jim's career began at Georgia Power Company, where expertise in quality assurance and construction engineering was gained. Jim holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Southern Nuclear operates a total of seven units for Alabama Power and Georgia Power at the Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant near Dothan, Ala.; the Edwin I. Hatch Nuclear Plant near Baxley, Ga., and the Alvin W. Vogtle Electric Generating Plant near Waynesboro, Ga. The company recently achieved commercial operation on Vogtle Unit 3 and is the current licensee of Vogtle Unit 4, which is under construction. Both of these units represent historic achievements for the nuclear industry as the first new nuclear units to reach commercial operation and be built in the United States in the last three decades.
