Matthew Walters

Matthew Walters is a seasoned electrical engineer with extensive experience in the energy and defense sectors. Currently, as a Lead Electrical/I&C Systems Engineer at Southern Nuclear since March 2016, responsibilities include maintaining and developing preventive maintenance strategies for plant equipment, particularly in the low voltage switchyard and ISO-Phase systems. Prior experience includes roles as an Electrical Engineer with the Department of Energy, focusing on safety basis evaluations and contractor oversight; and with the US Army, where studies and designs for electrical systems were accomplished. Early experience includes positions with the US Army Tank Automotive Command and the United States Air Force, where technical documentation development and testing of power electronic components were key duties. Matthew Walters holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Lawrence Technological University.
