Robert Espey is an accomplished engineering professional with extensive experience in the nuclear energy sector. Currently serving as the Shift Support Supervisor and Lead Test Engineer at Southern Nuclear since January 2021, Robert oversees integrated plant milestones related to balance of plant testing, ensuring the timely delivery of major site milestones. Prior to this role, Robert was an Operations Readiness Engineer at Southern Company, where leadership of a 20-person team facilitated the establishment of component testing programs. Earlier experience includes significant design engineering work at Babcock and Wilcox, contributing to reactor coolant system design and securing a substantial DOE funding opportunity, as well as technical roles in health physics at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Robert holds a Bachelor of Science in Nuclear and Radiological Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology.
