Southern Ocean Biotech: Pioneering Marine-Based Health Solutions

Southern Ocean Biotech, based in Portland, Victoria, Australia, is at the forefront of marine biotechnology, dedicated to advancing health and wellness through sustainable and scientifically backed nutraceuticals. Our mission is to harness the unique bioactive properties of marine resources to create health solutions that serve both people and the planet.

Our flagship product, Abagen™, is a revolutionary anti-inflammatory supplement derived from Australian abalone. Developed over 16 years in collaboration with CSIRO, Australia’s national science agency, Abagen™ provides proven anti-inflammatory benefits and superior bioavailability, making it an ideal solution for joint health. Sourced sustainably from abalone by-products, Abagen™ reflects our commitment to environmental responsibility at every stage of its creation.

Our approach is rooted in scientific excellence, with every product validated through in-depth research to ensure its efficacy and quality. Utilizing advanced extraction techniques, we are able to maximize abalone’s therapeutic potential while minimizing environmental impact. This journey is led by Dr. Simone Osbourne, whose dedication and expertise guide our research, supported by our collaborations with CSIRO and FRDC.

Abagen™’s therapeutic benefits are protected by patented technology (WO2017124149), underscoring our commitment to cutting-edge research and innovative health solutions. As we continue to explore the broader applications of marine-derived bioactives, we envision a future where Southern Ocean Biotech leads the industry with sustainable, science-driven products that support a better quality of life.
