Isabel Watkins Rubio

Isabel Watkins Rubio is the founder and executive director of the Hispanic Interest Coalition of Alabama (¡HICA!), which educates and empowers Hispanics through community development and advocacy work. A second-generation Mexican-American born in Mississippi, Rubio has engaged with thousands of Hispanics across Alabama in 25 years of nonprofit advocacy. Rubio serves as a director on the board of several regional and national organizations and is a widely recognized speaker on immigration in the South.
