Ashley Barnes

Ashley Barnes, M.Eng, is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in renewable energy and transmission engineering. Currently serving as a Renewable Operations O&M Project Manager and Renewable Operations Engineer at Southern Power since March 2020, Ashley manages the operations and maintenance of solar assets totaling approximately 500MW in California and Georgia. Prior experience includes roles at Southern Company as a Project Support Engineer and Transmission Line Design Engineer, overseeing conceptual design and providing engineering support for transmission projects. Earlier positions with Alabama Power Company as a Transmission Line Construction Engineer and Substation Maintenance Engineer, along with experience as a Cooperative Education Student at Robins & Morton, further contributed to Ashley’s engineering expertise. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Auburn University and a Master of Information & Management from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
