Jason Chesnutt

Jason Chesnutt is an experienced solar and wind energy technician with a strong background in operations and maintenance. Currently serving as a Solar Performance Engineer and Solar Operations Technician at Southern Power since January 2019, Jason has expertise in managing solar energy sites, including the 74 MW Rutherford Solar Farm and Granville Solar Farm. Prior experience includes roles as a Utility Solar Technician at Clearway Energy Group, a Resource Technician II at Vestas, and a Senior Wind Technician at EDF Renewable Energy, all of which required significant travel for on-site technical support. Jason’s early career involved military service in the US Navy as a SONAR Technician and Information Specialist. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Auburn University, an A.S. in Wind Energy Technology from Ecotech Institute, and a Certificate in Operational Meteorology from Mississippi State University.
