Jim Justice

Jim Justice is currently a Board Member at the SOUTHERN REGIONAL EDUCATION BOARD. Prior to that, they were the National Sales Director at National Life Group from January 2003 to July 2012. In that role, they managed 403b contracts with school districts, recruited and trained regional and state teams, and coordinated lobbying and communication strategies with state and legislative leaders. Jim also assisted in the creation of company growth plans, marketing materials, and training programs. During their time at National Life Group, Jim was recognized seven years in a row for being in the top five nationally for team achievement and growth. Jim also holds the company record for quickest promotion from Associate to National Education Director.

After National Life Group, Jim became the Marketing and Communications Director at PROFESSIONAL EDUCATORS OF NORTH CAROLINA FOUNDATION INC from July 2001 to December 2002. In that role, they helped the ValuTeachers division of the company grow by 110% in less than five years. Jim also represented the company at education conferences, created and facilitated workshops, and provided individual career and financial consultations for teachers.

Prior to their work in the private sector, Jim was a State Assistance Team Reviewer at the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction from June 1998 to June 2001.

Jim Justice's educational career includes a Masters in English/Education from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Jim is also certified from the North Carolina Dept of Insurance in Life and Health Insurance, and Property and Casualty Insurance. Additionally, they have a Teaching Certificate in English/Communications 9-12 from the NC Dept of Public Instruction.
