David Newsom

David Newsom has extensive experience in the finance industry, with a focus on commercial lending. David most recently served as the Director of Commercial Lending at Southern Security Federal Credit Union, where they developed and managed a new business/commercial lending division. Prior to this, they were the Corporate Fleet Finance and Operations Manager at TruckPro, LLC, where they successfully reconstructed the fleet department. David has also held roles such as Director of Credit Risk at The ServiceMaster Company, VP of Commercial Lending at First Citizens National Bank, VP of Commercial Lending at Trustmark National Bank, and VP of Small Business Banking at National Bank of Commerce. Additionally, they served as Vice President at First Commercial Bank, N.A., managing the CRA and Compliance Division and working in the dealer finance department. Throughout their career, David has consistently demonstrated strong skills in loan management, credit risk analysis, and business development.

David Newsom received their Bachelor's degree in Marketing/Finance from The University of Memphis from 1979 to 1988. David then pursued a Diploma in General Banking at the Mid South School of Banking from 1990 to 1993. In 2008 and 2009, they obtained a Certificate in Advanced Corporate Credit from the Fitch Rating Agency School at NYU. In 2004 and 2005, David earned a Certificate in Commercial lending and laws from the Tennessee Commercial Lending School at Vanderbilt University. Additionally, they obtained a Certificate in Regulatory Banking Compliance from the National Compliance School at the University of Oklahoma in 1993, and a Certificate in Consumer Lending & Laws from the Tennessee School of Consumer Credit at Vanderbilt University in 1987.
