Dan Merkel, CIC, has extensive experience in the insurance industry and public service. Since December 2015, Dan has served as a City Councilman for the City of Alpharetta. In addition, Dan has been a Sr. Account Executive at Southern States Insurance since April 2008, where expertise lies in presenting diverse insurance options to business owners across the United States. Prior to this, Dan held the position of Vice President at Johnson & Bryan from March 2000 to April 2008, focusing on strategic management of insurance programs for southeastern business owners. Dan's career began at AGA Insurance from 1995 to 2000 as an Account Executive, specializing in property and casualty insurance for start-up and small businesses. Dan earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Dayton and obtained the Certified Insurance Counselor designation from the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors.
