Mickey Keaton

Mickey Keaton has a diverse work experience that includes positions in law enforcement, scouting, and the military. Mickey started their career in 2004 as a Patrolman at the Shelby County Sheriff's Office, where they responded to calls, conducted investigations, and trained new officers as a Field Training Officer. In 2007, Mickey transferred to the Detective Division and worked on property crimes and homicide cases, gaining valuable experience in technology and field work. Mickey was promoted to the role of Sergeant in 2012, taking on supervisory and mentoring responsibilities within the Detective Division. In 2022, Mickey was promoted again to the position of Lieutenant, where they oversee supervisors, manages budgets, and ensures officers have the necessary training and tools to succeed. Outside of law enforcement, Mickey has served as a Cub Master and Scout Master for Boy Scouts of America since 2021. Mickey also served in the US Army as a Specialist E-4 from 2000 to 2002, where they were assigned to the 4th Infantry Division and deployed to the Kuwait/Iraq border as part of Operation Enduring Freedom. In 2019, Mickey also held a leadership position as the Senior Vice President for the Southern States Police Benevolent Association.

Mickey Keaton's education history includes a high school diploma from Bartlett High School, obtained in 1995. After high school, Mickey pursued further education in the field of criminal justice. From 2005 to 2007, Mickey attended Pikes Peak State College and earned an associate's degree in criminal justice, focusing on police science. Following this, from 2009 to 2012, Mickey enrolled at the University of Phoenix and obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in criminal justice.

In addition to these academic qualifications, Mickey Keaton has also obtained various certifications throughout their career. These certifications include ICLD (Institute for Command Leadership Development) 1-4 from the National Command & Staff College, acquired between March and April 2021. Mickey is also a Cellebrite Certified Operator (CCO) and a Cellebrite Certified Physical Analyst, obtained in October 2020. Further certifications include Investigating Vehicle Theft Fraud from the National Insurance Crime Bureau in August 2020, Command Leadership Institute from FBI-LEEDA in February 2020, Range Safety Officer from the National Rifle Association in February 2019, and various other certifications related to crisis leadership, incident management, use of force training, and investigative techniques.
