Rachel Willis is a seasoned HR professional with extensive experience in various roles focused on talent management and recruitment. Currently serving as a Senior People & Culture Advisor at Southland District Council since January 2022, Rachel previously held the position of Senior Human Resources Consultant at Findex New Zealand, where responsibilities included executive recruitment and leadership development. Southland is one of New Zealand's most beautiful areas, home to two National Parks and some of the most spectacular scenery the country has to offer. This region was built on the back of agriculture, which still plays an important role in the economy of the Southland District. Southland District Council manages around 30,979 square kilometres of the Deep South, home to more than 29.000 people. We look after most of Southland (excluding Gore & Invercargill which have their own councils). Southland District Council is responsible for the day-to-day running of our communities - looking after water, wastewater, stormwater, rubbish, animal control, cemeteries, environmental health, libraries, parks and reserves and roading.
